About the artist:

Born 8 (21) 07.1909, village  Prikop (now Slovakia) – Died 1990, Uzhgorod. Painter, member of the Union of Fine Arts in the Sub-Carpathian Ukraine (from 1933), member of the Union of Hungarian artists (from 1939), member of the Union of Carpathian artists (from 1939),  member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (from 1946), Honored Artist of the USSR (1975). Attended Public Drawing School under Bokshay I. and A.Erdeli (1929-1933). Worked mainly in the genre of landscape painting. Contributed to the city, republican exhibitions and abroad (including eight one-man shows). Works: "On the strands" (1936), "Winter Landscape" (1941), "Spring" (1945), "Country Yard" (1946), "Winter in Verhovina" (1953), "Winter Evening" (1956) "Winter in Stavny" (1957), "Verhovina" (1958), "Winter in Zhornav" (1959), "Kolochava in spring" (1960), "Rakhovsky meadows" (1962), "The Storm over the Beskids" (1968) "Yasynya", "Mountain Village" (both in 1973), "Rapid river" (1982), "Kolochava - Imshad" (1984) and others. Lived and worked in Uzhgorod.
