About the artist:
Born (23) 10.1907, Znamenka, Kirovograd region – Died 1981, Simferopol. Painter. Member of Union of artists of USSR. Military correspondent during World War II. Graduated from the Y.Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (St. Petersburg), where he studied under B. Johansson and V. Serov (1941). Taught in Crimea School of Art in Simferopol. Worked in the field of easel painting. Participant of regional, republican and All-Union exhibitions (from 1940). Works: "Breakthrough of squadron in Sevastopol" (1955), "Surf. Sevastopol"(1957), "In the Valley of Kara-Dag"(1960), "In the Harbour", "Sudak valley"(both in 1964), "Sevastopol May Day"(1966), "In the foothills of the Crimea"(1970). Created a series of sketches and drawings "Dunaj people in the fight for the Motherland" (1944-1945).
