About the artist:
Born 05.02.1921 village Litvinovka, (now within a city Verkhnedneprovsk, Dnepropetrovskiy region) – Died 23.02.2012, Kiev. Painter, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (from 1956), Honored Artist of the USSR (from 1977). World War II participant. Studied at the School of Art in Dnepropetrovsk (1938-1939). Graduated from the Kiev Institute of Art (1952), where he studied under professor K. Trokhymenko and professor B. Kostetskiy. Participated in numerous republican, All-Union exhibitions and abroad (from 1951). In particular, exhibitions in Japan (1974-1976), Finland (1977) and Bulgaria (1984). Worked in the thematic painting genre, as well in portrait and landscape genres. He is in top 100 lists of all best artists of Ukraine. Works: "Taras Shevchenko in Kaments-Podolsk" (1964), "I Stood and Listened to the Spring ..." (1970), "On the Freed Land. Year 1943"(1978), "Crimea"(1981), "Portrait of the Mother"(1984), "Seascape", "Blossoming Almond" (both in 1991) etc.
