About the artist:

Born 10 (23) 12.1914, village Ivanovka, Poltava Region – Died 29.01.1977, Kiev. Painter. Member of Union of Artists of Ukraine (from 1943). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (from1972). Studied at the Kiev School of Art (1931-1934). Studied under P. Kotova, K. Trohimenko, and K. Elev at the Kiev Institute of Art (1936-1942). Continuously contributed to republican exhibitions (from 1945) and exhibitions abroad (from 1958). His solo exhibitions were held in Kiev (1954, 1958 and 1967). Worked on landscapes, still-life painting and portrait genres. Works: the series "Dnepr HPP" and "Carpathian Land" (both in 1946), "Accelerated Dnepr" (1947), "T. Shevchenko among the Kazakhs "(1948), "Morning"(1955), "In the land far beyond the Ural. Taras Shevchenko"(1964),"Descendant"(1975) etc.
