About the artist:
Born 07 (20) 04.1908, Nezhyn (now Chernihiv region) – Died 18.03.1988, Chernivtsi. Painter. Member of Union of Artists of Ukraine (from 1938), Holder of the title Honored Artist of the USSR (1964). Graduated from Kiev Institute of Art, where she studied under F. Krichevskiy, M. Boichuk, M. Burachek and L. Kramarenko(1927). Taught in Kiev Institute of Art (1936 to1941). Member of the Revolutionary Art Association of Ukraine (1926-1927). Member of the Modern Craftsmen Association of Ukraine (1928). Lived and worked in Chernivtsi. Started her work with a thematic painting, sticking to the canons of realism. Later her creative method was based on the impressionistic ideas and plain air painting principles. From 1939 mainly worked in the landscape genre. Works: "Twilight" (1945), "On the Dniester" (1948), the series "Landscapes of Bucovina" (1949-57), "Blossoming Apple Tree" (1952), "Spring in Bukovina" (1958), "Carpathian Spring" (1968), "Blue Carpathians" (1969), "May in Bukovina" (1970), "Buckram" (1975).
