About the artist:
Born 08.1918, village Kulichki (now Sumy region) – Died 2006, Chernigov. Painter, Honored Artist of Ukraine (from 2006), Kotsyubinsky prize winner (1993). Fought in the Second World War. Studied at the Kharkov College of Art. Continued his education under B. Olkhovskiy, I. Sorokin, and R. Franz at the I. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Leningrad (1945-1951). Lived in Chernigov (1953). Worked in the field of historical and revolutionary genre and landscape. Contributed to the regional and republican art exhibitions. Works: "Attack of " Mannerheim Line "(1940)," The August uprising in the Neghin city" (1957), "Haydamaky "(1960)," Kachanovka "(1964)," In Bogunskiy regiment to Shchors "(1967)," Breakthrough "(1970)," Oath"(1972), "Autumn in Verkhovyna" (1981), "Zadesnyanskie meadows" (1995), and others.
